RAINBOW RHINO CHALLENGE
World Rhino Day falls in the month of September and to help this magnificent species survive, we are asking people from all over the world to raise funds by hosting their own fitness challenge event. It can be a long walk, a half marathon, or any distance triathlon that challenges you and your family and friends to help raise money for rhino protection. Donations will go to the Gondwana Conservation Foundation’s (GCF) Rainbow Rhino Initiative which focuses on finding new homes for rhino located in extremely high risk poaching areas.
PLAN YOUR EVENT IN THREE EASY STEPS
1. CHALLENGE yourself, your friends, your family and your social media contacts to a RUN-SWIM-RIDE for RHINOS anytime in the month of SEPTEMBER. We suggest a 5km run, a 750m swim and a 20km ride. Participants can do either one, two or all three activities or a walk or hike as an individual or as a group.
2. ENCOURAGE everyone (even non-participants) to make a donation (big or small) and share the cause across social media with as many contacts as you can to raise awareness and fight for this cause in saving Rhinos from extinction. We recommend a goal of $250 per team or $2,500 per event and will share updates and successes.
3. SHARE your event and achievement on your Facebook and Instagram pages and tag #gondwanagr and the #GondwanaConservationFoundation so others can be inspired.

The Rainbow Rhino Initiative is spearheaded by the Gondwana Conservation Fund (GCF), a legal charity registered in South Africa, whose current strategy is to acquire and relocate rhinos from high risk poaching areas to safer game reserves. During the month of September, the GCF will launch the Run-Swim-Ride campaign to raise funds for the ongoing Rainbow Rhino Initiative. The GCF’s short term goal is to raise $50,000 with a long-term objective to raise US$250,000 over five years which will help bring the safety and security to 25 Rhino.
