It is a sad and joyful day for the GCF as we had to say goodbye to Zee. Zee is on his way to contribute to the EWT cheetah metapopulation project which the GCF is happy to be supporting.
Our cheetah Zee is getting ready to be moved to his new home, the GCF is glad to be supporting the EWT in this way with their cheetah metapopulation project.
The GCF had an opportunity to teach and show University students volunteering with WEI how we track and monitor our cheetah. They had a chance to learn more about research and the realities of conservation and research based work.
Zee is doing well, he has become a proficient hunter and can often be found resting in the shade in his favourite areas of the reserve. Zee has taken well to being re-wilded and is able to function as wild cheetah without any drawbacks from initially being in captivity. We look forward to future developments […]
