Conservation Kids Day 2018

180 learners joined the GCF on Gondwana Game Reserve for an environmental education day. The day was filled with activities that gave the learners a better understanding of conservation and what it means to conserve our natural heritage. Activities included, removing black wattle from the property, and understanding the importance and impact that wattle has on our water supply and our natural vegetation. The learners also spent a great deal of time on safari identifying different animals and seeing a variety of them in their natural habitat. The Gondwana Elephants and Rhino were certainly a hit!! Each of the learners also received a detailed conservation exercise booklet developed by the GCF, with learning activities and valuable conservation information on the day. The schools that were involved are: Isalathiso Primary school, Imekhaya Primary school, TM Ndanda Primary school, St Lukes Primary school and Herbertsdale Laerskool.
